NAJACA SOUL
NaJaCa Soul was recently asked to participate in a studio recording project with Mr. Walter Wigand. Perhaps you have caught a glimpse of them singing together with him on Spiegel TV. The next episode of his reality series would have involved the ladies actually recording a song with Mr. Wigand. NaJaCa Soul were more than ready to record this beautiful lullaby that they had rehearsed together previously. Suddenly, Mr. Wigand phoned them a few days before the scheduled session. He informed NaJaCa Soul that there would be a change in the song to be recorded by them. These ladies graciously agreed to continue with the project in spite of this request being very short notice and despite their incredibly busy schedule.
Sadly, NaJaCa Soul was uncomfortably astonished, indescribably devastated, and immeasurably disappointed once they began to review the lyrics of this song in addition to hearing the actual music. The group has never before in their extensive career been asked to sing back-ups on a composition with such divisive language and a wildly negative message. NaJaCa remained puzzled about the purpose of this piece. Honestly speaking, it simply did not resonate with them. Moreover, the entire idea regardless of the intention failed to reflect their personal or professional ideology. A decision was made after careful consideration that there was no way that they could complete this project with a good conscious. Perhaps you may be wondering about the context of this song.
The message called for the rebuilding of a wall, brick for brick. The lyrics urged that Germany make a return to a undeniably dark and dangerous period of its history. The words were quite descriptive about how one should accomplish such a saddening goal. The title of this work loosely translated was "Let it be like it used to be: The secret hymn of the Germans."
NaJaCa Soul were engulfed with a flood of discomfort, confusion, anguish, and anxiety. Again, they simply could not attach themselves to a song that explicitly or implicitly, jokingly or seriously supported a disruptive and archaic mentality. The content of this matters to NaJaCa Soul. Their music is about uniting persons through love, peace, and empathy. The song that they were abruptly asked to sing does not coincide with who these ladies are as people. The entire world is aware of the tragedy and horror that is linked to the existence of the Berlin Wall. It was a very terrifying and traumatic period for countless persons who are still recovering now. It should not by any means happen again. This is the single and complex reason why NaJaCa Soul decided not to finish this project with Mr. Wigand and his entire team. It was not their intention to cause any inconvenience to anyone. They were left with no other choice for fear of some irreparably damaging outcomes that would happen as a result of their involvement with such a collaboration.
NaJaCa Soul does not support discriminatory, prejudicial, or racist speech. They believe that it is important to build bridges between people, create a tranquil world for all and promote unconditional love. Songs, poems, books, or any artistic works that beg for separation, encourages hate, and incites war shall never be supported by NaJaCa Soul.
Maybe the most crushing experience occurred one day after the recording took place. Mr. Wigand forwarded NaJaCa Soul an untimely message that immediately attacked their character and work ethic. Mr. Wigand unfairly labeled them unprofessional while admonishing their behaviour. What was missing from his aggressive and scolding note was him taking ANY responsibility, accountability, nor ownership of the incendiary content within his song. He failed to offer an apology for trying to casually put them in a space that would compromise their sensibilities, make a mockery of a fruitful career, and ultimately ruin a hard earned reputation in some sneaky fashion. Mr. Wigand instead blindly and angrily berated them without cause. So, maybe one could question his morals and motivation.
Finally, it is crucial to mention that NaJaCa Soul has always been unquestionably reliable, absolutely diligent, inarguably prepared, and very punctual when completing collaborative and their personal projects. This situation was rather different and unfamiliar. NaJaCa Soul was not aiming to upset Mr. Wigand. They wanted to simply uphold a unwavering philosophy while maintaining their dignity.
"We believe that all of our sisters, brothers, and community matter! Our ancestors are important! The children who shall learn from our music matter! All souls that have suffered because of intentional or unconscious ignorance matter! We can't let them and ourselves down! We don't want to go back to the past. We prefer to move forward and create a brighter future embracing the present moment with a positive outlook." - NaJaCa Soul

One day before the Triplet Sisters Birthday, they released the Song "Becoming A Butterfly" - June 21st 2024 respectively.
With a bright smile on their faces, they sing their way through obstacles which they perceive as growing pains during their transformation period.
The Man behind the inspiring Instrumental piece that also moved NaJaCa to grow their songwriting wings for this new tune is Kevin from KAB Music; a talented beat maker who has lovingly joined the NaJaCa Soul Collab Family. Many "Unpolished Diamonds' have been created thus far and are waiting to be completed and released for you all to share the enjoyment of this creative "merger".
"Becoming A Butterfly" is the first song to be released from this Project. NaJaCa Soul give thanks for everyone that played a role in finalising the production of this song including the great Randall Hutchins who helped arrange and mix the track.
As for more "juice" regarding what inspired the lyrics, NaJaCa Soul experienced a Heartbreak which many of you reading this can probably relate to. During the turmoil, they chose not to dwell in pain but to rise again by looking at it all from a transformative perspective. "..I'm no longer a victim, so I decided I choose love to go through everything.." - Becoming A Butterfly - NaJaCa Soul
